about us
home on the seas
In our hearts, we are blue-water sailors, an essence that has inspired a lifetime of decisions together. After taking a two year sabbatical from our careers to sail around the world the first time, we have focused all our choices on making this cruising lifestyle a reality. Once we had our daughter we decided we wanted to raise her with a world view not blurred by consumerism and pop-culture, and for us that meant living off the grid while traveling the world by sailboat. As blue-water sailors who love to cross oceans, this was an easy decision.
home in the trees
When not sailing the high seas, we are fortunate to call Idaho home. Typically in the US for only a couple months each year, we use our small lock-and-leave home in McCall as our base-camp from which our life of traveling and adventuring continues. Road trips to visit friends and relations scattered throughout the West give us great opportunities to enjoy the wonders and simplicities of life on land. But we always find ourselves itching for life back aboard Kailani after just a few weeks of absence. We are fortunate to balance our maritime life with gorgeous mountain living!
If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.
