S/Y Kailani is a Deerfoot 63 designed by Steve Dashew and built by Salthouse Brothers in New Zealand in 1990.  With a waterline of 60' she is fast as well as sea kindly and safe.

We christened her Kailani, a polynesian name that means "heavenly seas" or "sea and sky" ... we wanted to pay homage to her South Pacific heritage, and the name is harmonious with the  sense of peace and fulfillment we feel living as sailors.

Kailani is a solidly built cutter rigged cruising sailboat with the heart of an ocean racer.

To see more details of Kailani, see Kailani Highlights and Kailani line drawing.

To see Kailani in her element, check out this video shot by one of her crew on her 2010 Atlantic crossing.

Kailani takes a break during the journey across the Med, 2010.

Kailani at anchor in the Sacramento River Delta, our first "cruise" as a family aboard her in the Summer of 2011.
